Saturday, April 6 was all about the kids during Lebanon’s Bicentennial Kids Day event which was held alongside Lebanon Little Leagues Opening Day.
A Little League parade marched up Main Street into the Lebanon Community Park to the ball field where the opening ceremony took place. Lebanon Town Mayor and Council Members gathered on the field for the ceremony where Mayor Tony Dodi threw the first pitch of the day.
As games began for the day, Kid’s Day was in full swing. Hundreds of kids received a goodie bag full of snacks and fun items before they set out and enjoyed playing on inflatables, games that were set up from other vendors on site, a magic show by Joseph Young, visits with first responders and their vehicles, ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn and lemonade also made available for no charge thanks to generous organizations, businesses and churches. Many of these also provided several items from toiletries to toys. As the day began to warm up many kids also had some fun in the town Splash Pad at the park.
The Town of Lebanon was pleased for everyone who donated and volunteered their time to make this such a success and for all who came out and enjoyed the day. It was a wonderful day for everyone.
